While moms throughout Jalisco were celebrated on May 10 (Mothers Day), there was nothing but sadness for the thousands of mamas still waiting for any scrap of news about their missing sons and daughters.
The Glorieta de los Desaparecidos (the Niños Heroes Monument), renamed unofficially out of respect to Jalisco’s disappeared, hosted an evening vigil on May 10 attended by dozens of family members of missing people.
A day later, the glorieta was also the final destination of a 10,000-strong march by students demanding justice for the murders of three siblings.
