Guadalajara and Zapopan have launched “GuaZap,” a tool that allows citizens to highlight civic-related issues and receive a prompt response.
This system works via a bot called “Chato” that receives, channels and answers requests from both municipalities through WhatsApp messages.
Guadalajara Mayor Pablo Lemus Navarro said citizens only need add the numbers 333-818-2222 or 333-610-1010 to their list of contacts and follow the steps indicated when lodging a comment or complaint.
Lemus said the tool’s main goal is to lower response times in vital services, such as illegal garbage dumping, pothole repair, public lighting issues, etcetera.
