Chapala municipal police detained an individual accused of stalking a number of local people and photographing them with his cellphone without consent.
Officers tracked down the man on Tuesday, May 31, at the entrance of a hotel on Calle Guadalupe Victoria where he was handcuffed among a crowd of perturbed onlookers and hustled into the back seat of a police car that took him away from the scene.
Police were alerted after various adolescents and women, and some men, discovered that their photographs had been posted on the suspect’s Facebook account, accompanied by comments that he was being harassed by the subjects of his pictures.
Some people who witnessed the man’s peculiar behavior suggest that he is mentally ill, and perhaps afflicted with paranoid schizophrenia.
The current legal status of Leonardo “N” was unknown at press time.
