The president of Mexico and the governors of Jalisco and Colima teamed up this week to announce that the final parts of the four-lane Guadalajara-Colima-Manzanillo highway will be completed by the end the year.
Various details of the highway, including an important half-kilometer bridge, have been stalled for several years due to an impasse between the federal government and local collective farmers’ groups (ejidos).
President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said the issues have now been cleared up, allowing the highway to be finished in accordance with its original design.
