PV sets Catrina record

For the second consecutive year, Puerto Vallarta has obtained the Guinness record for the largest monumental catrinain the world.

The fiberglass female skeleton measured 28.15 meters high, beating its previous record from 2022 of 22.64 meters. The Catrina will stay up until November 20 on the Vallarta boardwalk. Other cities in Mexico, including Zapotlanejo in Jalisco, claim to have built record-breaking catrinas, but these have not been recognized by the Guinness organization.

Eat well in Puerto Vallarta

The 28th Festival Gourmet International 2023 takes place in Puerto Vallarta from November 9 to 19. This popular culinary event involves 32 restaurants and 20 wineries, and showcases 75 renowned local and international chefs.   Founded by Cafe de Artistes proprietor Thierry Blouet, the festival offers 13 special events, tickets for which can be purchased from the official website. Basketball playoffs

The Astros de Jalisco play the first two games of their Mexican Professional Basketball League (LMBP) quarter-final against the Plateros de Fresnillo on Thursday, November 9 and Friday, November 10 at the Astros Stadium in Guadalajara. Both games start at 8 p.m. Games three and four of the seven-game series will be in Fresnillo November 13 and 14, while the teams will return to Guadalajara for games six and seven, if needed, next weekend.
