A crackdown on motorcycle violations, launched on February 1 by state and local traffic authorities, has led to the reported confiscation of 37 motorcycles and three ATVs, which were towed to an impound facility in Tonalá.
Vehicles were seized for infractions such as failure to wear helmets, vests, or use headlights, as well as lacking license plates, driving permits, registration documents, or insurance. Local motorcyclists had been warned in December that traffic enforcement operations would take effect this month.
