The Jalisco government will extend the operating hours of its tax offices (recaudadores) in the coming weeks to accommodate car owners who have not yet exchanged their license plates within the designated time periods this year.
November and December are designated for plates ending in 9 and 0, but thousands of vehicle owners with plates terminating from 1 to 8 have yet to complete the obligatory exchange.
Starting in January 2026, car owners found driving with outdated plates will face penalties when stopped by traffic police.
In addition, the government has announced discounts on late traffic fines during the Buen Fin weekend, from November 13 to 18.
