Vehicle registration (refrendo vehicular) fees in Jalisco will remain at 1,000 pesos for cars and 600 pesos for motorcycles in 2026, according to the state Ministry of Public Finance. The fee includes free vehicle emissions testing (verificación vehicular).
State tax collection offices (recaudadoras) are preparing for high demand this month and will offer extended hours during the first two weeks of the year. From January 2 to 16, offices in the Guadalajara metropolitan area will operate Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Beginning January 19 through March 31, weekday hours will shift to 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with Saturday hours unchanged. Offices elsewhere in the state will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
To encourage online payments and reduce wait times, the state is offering a five-percent early-bird discount on 2026 vehicle registration renewals paid online in January and February.

A 70-percent discount on vehicle ownership transfers will remain in effect throughout the year.
Additional discounts will also apply during January and February. Online payments for traffic camera fines and state traffic violations will receive a 60-percent discount, including any related surcharges. Those who pay these fines in person at tax offices will receive a 50-percent discount.
