Jalisco records dramatic drop in dengue cases

The Jalisco Health Secretariat (SSJ) has announced a significant public health achievement for 2025: a drastic reduction in dengue fever cases across the state. However, health officials are urging citizens not to lower their guard, as they implement a “triple epidemiological surveillance” strategy to combat a rise in winter respiratory viruses.

Jalisco began 2025 as the state with the highest number of confirmed dengue cases in Mexico. According to the Secretary of Health, Héctor Raúl Pérez Gómez, the state successfully curbed outbreaks through fumigation campaigns, programs to eliminate mosquito breeding sites, and close collaboration with municipal governments.
