Two of the world’s great spirits-producing regions, Scotland and Jalisco, are being represented together for the first time, supposedly, vis-a-vis a unique product hitting the shelves this week: tequila aged in single malt scotch barrels.

Cyber crime, that most modern of extra-legal maladies, goes by-and-large un-punished in the state of Jalisco, according to the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).  

Jalisco, often touted as a major engine of job creation for the nation, has broken its own record this year for generation of new work, with over 103,789 positions created from January through October.

Federal police and members of the armed forces converged on a property in the Jalisco municipality of Ixtlahuacan del Rio that they believe manufactured marijuana edibles (probably cookies), a rarity in Mexico. 

This weekend, the pine tree festooned town of Tapalpa will offer – along with fresh, alpine air – two days of music and art, free of charge, as part of the Festival Tapalpa 2017.

The unheralded Jalisco municipality of Zapotiltic will receive some unexpected international attention next month when it hosts one of six Paragliding Pre-World Cup Tour dates scheduled in the lead up to next year’s Paragliding World Cup.
