CREM honors Viva La Musica stalwarts for years of service

To express their deep gratitude to Rosemary and John Keeling for their many years shepherding Viva La Musica, the CREM String Quartet and Chorus, ranging in age from 6 to 18, took turns performing at Ajijic’s Haus der Musik, May 2.


Chapala hosts weekend gourmet fest

Alert to local foodies. Get a taste of an array of 40 different Jalisco-made food products at Expo Chapala Gourmet to be held Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5 at the segment of the Chapala waterfront Malecón  running adjacent to Avenida Madero. Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. both days.

Wixárika and Maori cultures to intersect this weekend

A three-day interdisciplinary cultural project committed to the decolonization of water, from which it seeks to create a meeting place between two indigenous cultures – the Wixárika culture of Jalisco and Nayarit and the Maoris of New Zealand – takes place from Friday, May 3 to Sunday, May 5.      

Harp Festival kick-off event March 27

Delightful strains of traditional Mexican music will fill the air when nine local musicians congregate at the kick-off event for the 17th Encuentro de Arpas, Salterios y Mas Wednesday, March 27, 6 p.m. at  Cafe Galeria Inspira (Av. Madero 228, Chapala).  There is no charge, although the cafe will appreciate any orders.
