The art of the ancients

Just a few days remain to catch the astounding exhibit of ceramic sculptures by local master craftsman Gilberto Torres Herrera at the Centro Cultural Antigua Presidencia, on display in the ground floor gallery at the corner of Avenida Madero and Hidalgo.


Stepping up and stepping out

In May 2015, Val Jones, a local professional dancer and choreographer, began teaching tap classes at the Bravo Theatre to help dancers prepare for try-outs for the upcoming Lakeside Little Theatre show “Stepping Out.”

Extra date added for Mac Morison benefit

“You Gotta Have Heart!,” a Barbara Clippenger production to benefit Lakeside crooner Mac Morison, has almost sold out its Tuesday and Wednesday, November 27 and 28, 4 p.m., performances at the Spotlight Club.

Nascent community orchestra takes shape

The Lake Chapala area is about to witness the birth of its own orchestra. Spearheaded by several expat musicians, the organization will be known as the Lake Chapala Community Orchestra. Its mission will include serving the local communities as a performing arts ensemble and as a vehicle for educational opportunities for young musicians within the Lake Chapala region and beyond.
