Art fairs

• A special Valentine’s Day edition of the LCS Art in the Garden shows will be held in the gardens of the Lake Chapala Society Saturday, February 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (16 de Septiembre 16A in Ajijic).

• Art in the Plaza is on this Saturday, February 3, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Centro Laguna Mall. Enjoy live music and shop with more than 60 vendors selling gourmet food, art work in all disciplines, jewelry, textiles and more.

Exhibits

• Artful Codgers Art Show, an exhibit by and celebration of Lakeside residents and snowbirds over the age of 60, will open with a “All Out Rock’n” reception Saturday, February 10, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Ajijic Cultural Center on the Ajijic plaza.

• “Identidades,” an exhibition of contemporary art from Chiapas and Oaxaca by Blanca Ricci, Ines Lara, Jesus Cuevas and Patricio Santiago, opens  Saturday, January 20, 5 p.m. at the Centro Cultural Ajijic, on the Ajijic Plaza.

Exhibits

• The exhibition “No Hablo Español,” a series of photographs by Phillip Malyard, inspired by Mexico’s magic realism and surrealism, opens Wednesday, January 17, 6 p.m. at the Centro para la Cultura y las Artes de la Ribera.

Painting workshops
