Shabbat Torah services are held the first and third Saturday of the month, 10 a.m. and Shabbat evening services and potluck every second and fourth Friday, 6 p.m., at the Lake Chapala Jewish Congregation.

English-speaking parishioners at Ajijic’s San Andrés church were taken by surprise Sunday, March 3 when they arrived for the regular 9 a.m. Mass and found the gates locked.

People power was the driving force behind the latest Operación Amor spay and neuter clinic held March 2 and 3 on the campus of Chapala’s Secundaria Ténica 83.

Thirty-Four, eight-member teams competed in the 10th Anniversary Trivia Quizzes event organized through Niños Incapacitados and held at the Hotel Real de Chapala February 5. 

Ramana MaharshiSatsang

Ramana Maharshi Satsang, presented by Richard Clarke of Riberas Meditation, is Wednesday, March 6, 7 to  8:30  p.m. at Nameste Lake Chapala, Angel Flores 5 in Ajijic. 

As is expected this time of year in Ajijic, it was beautiful and sunny on Sunday, the final day of this year’s Chili Cookoff. The annual fund-raising event was in full swing and Tobolandia park was filled with hungry visitors, eager to try the chili served up by this years contestants, watch some first-rate entertainment and perhaps take home a couple of products from some of the many merchandise stalls.
