Livestock Fair

Expo Ganadera 2004, Guadalajara’s annual livestock fair, considered by many as Mexico’s best of the genre, opened this week with an ongoing exhibition of live farm animals and a jam-packed program of special events that should entice thousands of visitors before it ends November 3.

Tequila expo

More than 50 tequila producers have set up shop in Tlaquepaque for the third Expo Tequila Tlaquepaque, which runs from Thursday, September 5 through Sunday, September 8, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Centro Cultural El Refugio (Donato Guerra 160, between Contreras Medellín and Prisciliano Sánchez). Fans of Mexico’s firewater will find at least 150 different brands of tequila on exhibit and for tasting.

As has now become a tradition at the International Mariachi Festival, an attempt will be made next week to create a new Guinness world record for the largest number of mariachi musicians playing together at once.
