Top players lured to Jalisco Open

Top-tier tennis is on the menu next week in Guadalajara as the sixth edition of the Jalisco Open unfolds at the Polideportivo Metropolitano de Tenis from Tuesday, March 15 through Sunday, March 20.

Charros sneak into baseball playoffs

The Charros de Jalisco finished the year with a 30-38 record, managing to take the sixth and last playoff slot ahead of the Naranjeros de Hermosillo and last year’s Mexican Pacific League (LMP) champions, Tomateros de Culiacan.

Jalisco garnered eight points in the two halves of the LMP season to earn the right to face the top-seeded Aguilas de Mexicali in the first round of the playoffs.

Charros dumped from baseball playoffs

It was always going to be tough for the sixth seed Charros to make it through the first round of the  Mexican Pacific League playoffs, but the fans, and the Charros themselves, probably did not envision a four-game sweep at the hands of the top-seeded Aguilas de Mexicali.
