For over three decades, thousands of visitors to Puerto Vallarta have enjoyed day and nighttime excursions aboard the Marigalante, a replica of the Santa María, the ship on which Christopher Columbus arrived in the Americas in 1492. 

Last weekend, heavy rainfall in Puerto Vallarta caused creeks and canals to overflow, inundating nine neighborhoods and resulting in extensive damage to properties.

The 17th edition of Vallarta-Nayarit Gastronomica will be held from October 12 to 19, at the Hotel Paradise Village. The event brings together Michelin-starred chefs, local culinary talents, and experts from Mexico, Latin America and Europe.

From August to January, Jalisco’s coast enters turtle nesting season, and the University of Guadalajara (UdeG), primarily through its University Center of the South Coast (CUCsur), has been leading conservation efforts since 1985.

A couple—apparently of foreign origin—was spotted walking a young lioness on a leash through a residential area near the Puerto Vallarta boardwalk. 

Starting in November 2025, Porter Airlines will begin connecting Puerto Vallarta with Toronto, Ottawa and Hamilton, expanding the number of Canadian cities offering direct service to this popular Mexican resort to 17.
