Maids without benefits
Of Mexico’s 1.58 million domestic workers, 44 percent have no medical insurance and receive no benefits, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI). There are 692,614 people working as maids, cooks, chauffeurs and other domestic staff without social security, INEGI revealed this week.
Authorities in Mexico City have rounded up 54 stray dogs in a bid to find those they say were responsible for the deaths of five people over the last month.
