Local man found dead after abduction

An Ajijic native of Mexican and U.S. parentage abducted on the evening of Friday, December 14 was found dead early the following morning at the edge of an isolated back road near the boundary of El Salto and Tlajomulco. The site is situated a short distance from the Chapala-Guadalajara highway.


Chapala immigration chief answers FAQs

As a significant number of Lakeside expats continue to agitate about how their lives will be impacted by Mexico’s new immigration law, the Reporter asked Chapala’s INM migration services chief Juan Carlos Galvan to clarify some key points of contention. ‘Obey the law’

Alberto Alvarez Ahumada took charge of Chapala’s SVT traffic department office on November 27.  Insisting that officers under his command are not out to hunt down foreign motorists, he noted, “As long you obey the law, you won’t have any problems.”

Foreigner suspected in rash of break-ins
