Tim Burton is a genius when it comes to turning classical Disney films into something slightly more “moody.”

This is what he accomplished with his rendition of Dumbo, a story of a young elephant whose gigantic ears allow him to fly. His talents help a circus gain notoriety, but in the process, the loveable animal discovers the company’s dark secrets. Director: Tim Burton. Cast: Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito. Rated: PG. Time: 1:52.

The Haunted Hospital

This German film originally released as HEILSTÄTTEN followed a group of Berlin youth who come across a haunted sanctuary outside of Berlin. What makes this story a little different is that this posse is full of  YouTubers adamant about creating the next viral video. Little do they know that staying for 24 hours in this haunted sanctuary was a bad idea. Director: Michael David Pate. Cast: Nilam Farooq, Farina Flebbe and Sonja Gerhardt. Rating: N/A. Time: 1:29.

Ben is Back

Get ready for a potential tear-jerker. Imagine that your son got so addicted to drugs that he ran away from home, only to suddenly return on Christmas Eve. While everybody is bound to rejoice, you can imagine that there’ll be some tense confrontations as Julia Roberts’ character tries to rehabilitate her boy. Director: Peter Hedges. Cast: Julia Roberts, Lucas Hedges and Courtney B. Vance. Rating: R. Time: 1:43.
