State orchestra to present ‘family concerts’

The Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra will take to the stage of Guadalajara’s Teatro Degollado on the last two Sundays in April, for four “concerts for the family,” under the title “Fantasía geográfica.”

Designed to generate interest in classical music for all ages, the concerts, to be conducted by Mariana Martinez, will feature a narrator.  Pieces by Beethoven, Brahms, Ravel and Tchaikovsky are included in the April 23 and 30 concerts, which are scheduled at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on both days. Tickets, 100 to 250 pesos, available at the Degollado box office or from Ticketmaster.
