Goldwasser, about an ageing auto mechanic (award-winning Dov Glickman), who finds himself the temporary guardian of his long abandoned, special needs son.

pg6c 1“Shoelaces,” nominated for 8 Israeli Film awards, explores the father-son relationship through a different lens from last week’s film, “Longing,” in which a father never knew his son and tried to reverse the past: In “Shoelaces,” Reuven, gets the second chance Ariel never had, but that Reuven never wanted, especially since he left the family because he couldn’t cope with Gadi’s mental challenges.
