Kindrid Quilters gear up for Nov. 8 annual show

A local group of eight international award-winning quilters will host their second annual textile and fabric show on Saturday, November 8, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Paseo de las Canoas 29 in La Floresta.


Young art contest winners pick up cash prizes

Winners of the Third Annual Feria Maestros del Arte Contest for youngsters who attend the Children’s Art Program at the Lake Chapala Society (LCS) were recently announced by the Feria board.  Children enrolled in the Saturday art sessions were asked to enter pictures of Mexican toys or of Michicihualli, the legendary goddess of the Lake.

‘Legacy Artists’ to hold anniversary exhibit

A 60-year retrospective of artwork produced by young artists who have received training in the Lake Chapala Society Children’s Art Program will open with a reception on Sunday, October 26, 3 to 6 p.m. at the Ajijic Cultural Center on the north side of the plaza.

Fashion show to highlight jewelry, rebozos

Feria Maestros del Arte will present a unique fashion show as a pre-Feria fundraiser on Wednesday, October 22.
Models will showcase the stunning silver jewelry collection of Gabriela Sánchez Arias, as well as Lupita Zepeda’s rebozos (typical shawls of Mexico).
