Jocotepec’s Department of Art, Culture and Tradition wraps up its March calendar of events with two art show openings set for the last two Fridays of the month.
Pianist Rodrigo Leal Murillo and violinist Juan Pablo Medeles, two rising stars in the local firmament of musical talent, will perform a dual recital Saturday, March 15, 3:30 p.m., at Saint Andrew’s Anglican Church, San Lucas 19, Riberas del Pilar.

There is a strong local connection in the next film in the Sunday “Afternoon at the Movies” series sponsored by the Lake Chapala Chapter of Democrats Abroad Mexico.
There’s still time to buy your tickets for Lakeside Little Theatre’s fun and entertaining musical “Hooray For Hollywood!” written and directed by Barbara Clippinger. Alexis Hoff is choreographer and Judy Hendrick is music director.
“Hooray for Hollywood,” an original music and dance extravaganza written and directed by Barbara Clippinger, opens at Lakeside Little Theatre on Friday, February 21, running through Tuesday, March 4.
Showstoppers 8 performed by members of Los Cantantes del Lago will be presented on Sunday, February 16, 4 p.m. at St Andrew’s Anglican Church in Riberas del Pilar. The bar is open at 3 p.m.
Jocotepec hosts a Feria Artesanal Indígena from Monday, February 10 through Monday, February 17 in the town’s main plaza. Among the indigenous art and crafts on show and for sale will be pieces from the communities of the Wixarika, Otomí, Tzotzil, Chol, Purépecha, Nahua and Mazahua.
