The Christmas season is usually a joyful time for most people here and elsewhere around the globe.

Conventional wisdom taken from scripture instructs us that “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” So it seems an opportune time to salute all those who follow the precept.
Sincere thanks are in order for all the front-line health care workers who have given blood, sweat and tears to care for thousands of Covid patients in this nation and millions more worldwide.
Blessings and sympathy go out to every family struggling with financial troubles, ailments and the loss of a loved one.
Best wishes to all lakesiders who have opened their hearts and pocketbooks to help feed hungry neighbors and provide gifts to underprivileged kids.
