Woke: Humanity’s reset

Whenever we shift or widen our empathies and change attitudes, judgments, traditions, beliefs or biases for the common good, we are considered “Woke.”

Or, if you’re sour on Woke persistence, it’s called political correctness and is scoffed at, depending on your ideology and tolerance for someone else’s correctness.

For ages, over every world culture, thousands of bizarre societal customs and beliefs have emerged and most were examined for suitability, many abandoned or changed. Civilization in progress.

It was acceptable at one time for ancient Romans to sit and socialize for long periods while on the public latrine.  Now I’m guessing that somebody finally looked around and said, “Hey, I don’t know about you people, but I’m gonna find a picnic table.” Woke.

It was okay to brand young women as witches for dancing “too excitedly.” You can thank Woke for the wildly erotic Minuet. Until Woke later pushed ahead with the lawless Waltz, where people actually touched—later to be outdone by the Jitterbug, taking us back to dancing too excitedly. Woke.
