A traditional Christmas Eve Mass at St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Guadalajara begins with a bilingual carol sing at 6 p.m., Tuesday, December 24, led by the church’s 17-member choir including six professional singers and the acclaimed Ana Silvia Guerrero on the organ. These five carols — “Good Christian Friends Rejoice,” “Joy to the World,” “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear” and others — have been arranged with alternating English and Spanish lyrics and the congregation will join in the singing.

The countryside comes to the city next week when 120 small-scale artisan farmers in Jalisco get an opportunity to show off their products at a special pavilion on one of the metro area’s most prestigious boulevards.

The 16-member choir at St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Guadalajara is set to sing the annual, bilingual, interdenominational “Lessons and Carols” worship service on Sunday, December 8 at 5 p.m. The congregation joins in on many of the Advent hymns and Christmas carols, which alternate with bible readings related to Jesus’ birth.

The fall edition of Bazart takes place at the Larva Cultural Center in downtown Guadalajara on Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1.
