Book Club
The English Book Club in Guadalajara meets at the American Society (Amsoc) Thursday, October 18, 10 a.m. when the tome “The End of, Night: Searching for Natural Darkness in an Age of Artificial Light” by Paul Godard will be discussed.

Distinction
The Ballet de Jalisco, the state’s only full-time professional classical dance troupe, has been nominated in the ballet category for the Lunas de Auditorio awards for 2018. These national prizes recognize the best live performances by Mexican artists and groups. The Ballet de Jalisco was selected thanks to its performances of “Swan Lake,” “The Nutcracker” and “Romeo and Juliet.” The awards ceremony will be held in the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City October 31.
