Tying into the April 30 celebration of Día del Niño, the local children’s homes Love in Action and Hope House have issued a public appeal to support Mas Sonrisas (More Smiles), a one-day donation campaign scheduled for Saturday, April 26.
The shelter organizations are asking kind-hearted lakesiders to contribute toys and non-perishable food to brighten the lives of the children and teens, aged two to 18, who are housed in the two facilities. Collection points will be set up at Chapala’s Fuente de Pescadores and the central plazas in Ajijic and Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
