The Outreach Committee of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church made grant distributions to ten charitable organizations on April 2. The committee, in partnership with Have Hammer, operates the resale store, Todo Bueno, located at Hidalgo 231 in Riberas Del Pilar. The funds distributed represent proceeds from the operation of the store, totalling in excess of 250,000 pesos.
The beneficiaries of the distributions are as follows: UVA Scholarship Fund, to fund a university level scholarship for Alonso Guzman Gomez; Centro de Desarrollo Jocotepec, for ongoing education of adolescents and young adults to prevent unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases; Casa Hogar Una Esperanza en el Corazón, for a maintenance building upgrade; Música Para Crecer, for the installation of girls’ and boys’ toilets in their practice facility; Tepehua Centro Comunitario, for the construction of ten wooden stoves in Tepehua residences; Cruz Roja Mexicana IAP for the purchase of ambulance equipment; Casa de Ancianos de Chapala, for interior and exterior painting of the facility, and the installation of shatterproof glass; Operation Feed, to fund a 20-week English-language program for local children; Centro Amor en Acción Brazos Extendidos, to purchase kitchen equipment; and Asociación Femenina Pro Mexico, for the purchase of cafe equipment.
