Chapala first lady Mariana Villanueva Ochoa, Mayor Moisés Anaya and the couple’s elder son kicked off the 2019 Cruz Roja Colecta Wednesday, March 27, dropping a donation into the canister held by local Red Cross board president Yolanda Martínez Llamas.
The annual fund-raising campaign will continue through the end of April, with well-indentified volunteers posted at intersections and other public places to collect contributions. Martínez has set a goal to bring in a half million pesos this year to help offset operating costs for the Cruz Roja Chapala clinic that run at around 300,000 pesos per month.
