Lake Chapala Baptist
Last Sunday, Pastor Linton delivered a message all about perseverance. It is not surprising, then, that the sermon texts were taken mostly from Romans and Hebrews.
“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. Jesus—the beginning and the end, who began a good work in you—will see it through in you.
“Do not waver!” Pastor John told us in conclusion. “Stay where God has called you to be; stay in the hand of God. In our persevering, believers and beloveds, God will never leave us nor forsake us. He will keep us in His hand forever.”
Share memorable weekly sermons, uplifting music, and an ongoing thirst for true wisdom at Lake Chapala Baptist Church every Sunday at 10:45 a.m. Santa Margarita 147, Riberas del Pilar. Information: 376-765-2925, 333-016-3743 or the LCBC Facebook page.
If you’ve never experienced a bilingual service, give it a try, and bring a friend! At LCBC, not only are the sermons instantly translated, but the worship music is sung in both languages, something that is surprisingly easy to get the hang of when you have all the words on a big screen in front of you and people from all over the world singing with you.
LCBC’s bilingual service meets Sundays at 5:30 p.m. Please see our ad under Worship Listings for more information. ¡Todos bienvenidos!
Sunday, July 31, Johannes Bjorner will speak about “Gun Violence in America.”
Gun violence is a complex subject and the United States has lost perspective on the issue. It is so common now that we have become numb to it. But there are organizations that work for gun control, and they bring new hope. What can we learn from these efforts?
Heidi MacLennan will be the service leader.
Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship services are Sundays, 10:30 a.m. In-person services are now available at Hidalgo 261, Riberas del Pilar.

Our feeding program collects non-perishable food items to donate to “Operation Feed,” which helps about 140 families in and around San Juan Cosalá. Donations of rice, beans or cash, which allows us to buy at bulk for the lowest prices to help feed even more families, is especially welcome. If you opt for a cash donation, envelopes marked “Rice” or “Beans” are available every Sunday. If you sign your name to the envelope, your offering will be recorded as a church donation.
Clearing out your closet? If you are, please don’t forget our resale shop, Todo Bueno. Every donation or consignment made benefits the Outreach Ministry of St. Andrew’s, enabling our parish to financially support a number of charities around Lakeside. Clothing, kitchenware, electronics, books, bric-a-brac, furniture, appliances, collectables, etcetera, are all welcome. Open Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Coffee and Cookies Ministry: A wonderful time for meeting friends and greeting newcomers. Please join us. We’d be grateful for volunteers to provide cookies. Those interested can sign up via the sign-up sheet near the garden pathway.
