West of Ajijic, next to the Margaritaville sales office, mountainside of the Carretera, Jocotepec-Chapala 961, in Ajijic.

Sermon series this Sunday is from The Hard Sayings of Jesus and the Sermon title: “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

What does this even mean? We know We’re not perfect! Join us for our inaugural time of worship this Sunday, September 15 at 11 a.m. as we explore this topic. We seek to be an inclusive group of believers, working through our understanding of scripture and growing in God together in an upbeat and encouraging way with Co-pastors Ted Rogers and Dr. Wayne Cook.

Lakeside Presbyterian

Where can we find hope? Hope is a powerful force that can transform our lives and guide us through trials and uncertainties. In the Christian faith, our hope is anchored in Jesus Christ, who is a foundation that’s both secure and eternal.

Text: Romans 15:13 (NIV): “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Please join us this Sunday, September 15, as Pastor Carolyn Hansen explores this question.

As of this Sunday, September 15, our Church starting times are changing:  the English-speaking service will begin at 10 a.m. and the Spanish-speaking service at 11:30 a.m.

After the service, join us in the Narthex for coffee and refreshments.

The English-speaking service also streams each Sunday at Facebook.com/ LPCChapala.

Heritage Baptist Church

We at Heritage have just witnessed many of our congregation being baptized. Baptism is the Gospel in a visible form, and this simple act demonstrates a heart that seeks to honor Jesus our Lord. Jesus submitted to John’s baptism though He needed no repentance for His own sin. Jesus goes into the water to identify Himself with those who needed repentance. What does water signify here? (Death.) Who are the ones who have died? We have died. Sinners dead in trespasses and sins. Baptism is symbolic to dying to self and rising to a new life and relationship with Jesus Christ. One of the last things that Jesus said to His disciples before He left them and ascended to Heaven was, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Please join us at the American Legion, Morelos street 114, Chapala. Sundays at 10:30. Cell: 331-437-7281 or 333-016-3743, email: This email address is being protected from spambots. Lake Chapala Baptist

A famous creed calls God, “the Father Almighty.” Christians take comfort in this idea that God loves us like an ideal parent, and that he is strong enough to do whatever he wants. But you don’t have to live long to experience pain. Our either/or logic says that either God sees my suffering and he doesn’t care, or he’s not strong enough to make a difference. How can he watch me suffer and not stop it? I’ve been a tree pruner and a track coach. I caused stress to trees and to athletes in the hopes of causing their growth. In John 15, Jesus says, “I’m the vine and my Father is the gardener.” So how do you know if your suffering is random and meaningless, or your life is in the hands of a master gardener? Join us as we find meaning and explore God’s character together.

English worship service is Sundays at 10:45 a.m. with Pastor Dan Klassen. Spanish worship service follows at 12:40 p.m. English-language Bible study is Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and Tuesday at 10 .am. Lake Chapala Baptist Church, Santa Margrita 147, Riberas del Pilar. Information: office: 376-765-2925; cell. +1-508 -838-9156.
