As part of the service, film maker Andrea Sandler will share the trailer for “The Sacred Run, the lotus and the flower.”

Then on Friday, February 14, from 4-6:30 p.m., the 55-minute film will be shown in the sanctuary, followed by a Q&A and a fire ceremony in the garden. The service associate is Sandy Wallen.

Eckankar

Everything revolves around love. It always does. No matter how much we rush about in this world and how harried, ambitious, or sorrowful we become, the world stays together for some reason. The reason is God’s love. It makes the whole work, even though sometimes it looks like nothing is working at all.

The two supreme laws are: God is love, and Soul exists because God loves it.

But how do you make this work out in everyday life? Whenever you’re in doubt about any action, ask yourself: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it Kind? You can also ask, What would love do?

Everyone has some experience with love—even a child who has a pet kitten or a dog. Soul is trying, to give back or respond to God’s love that’s coming through. (The above text is from Spiritual Wisdom on Relationships by Harold Klemp.)

Meet with other like-minded Souls for open non-denominational spiritual discussions Tuesdays, 2 to 3:15 p.m. at the Lake Chapala Society.

Heritage Baptist Church

A preacher tells of a man about to jump from a roof and kill himself. Cop offers to listen to him for five minutes as he explains why his life is bad enough to justify suicide, but only if the man will listen to his own story for five minutes. After exchanging both stories, both men joined hands and jumped. It turns out that neither man believed in God.

If you don’t believe in God, you have no hope, nor any concrete meaning in your life. When we hold firm to our confidence in God’s promises, we are walking in a faith which grants us an assurance in Christ, His gospel, and our own salvation. God’s promises are sealed in our hearts. And such faith is a practical, logical thing. Such faith can save both our lives and our soul.

We worship an invisible God but we have evidence in our hearts of His presence, proof in our hearts that we are His children. Our faith itself is our proof. We know that we are saved, and that faith is unshakeable.

Lake Chapala Baptist Church

The universal church is the assembly of all believers—past, present, and future—united in Christ’s new covenant and kingdom. Have you ever wondered what it means to belong to an eternal kingdom? It is a kingdom not confined by physical borders or political systems. It is a kingdom where Christ reigns as King and His citizens are united in faith and fellowship.
Scripture describes believers as parts of a spiritual body, uniquely designed for a purpose, working together under Christ, the head, to glorify God. Throughout history, He has charged His church with His gospel, making disciples of all nations by spreading the message of salvation.
While believers live out kingdom values today, the fullness of Christ’s kingdom will be realized at His second coming. At that time, He will reign eternally, defeating sin, death, and evil, and restoring creation to its intended glory under God’s sovereign rule.

Lakeside Presbyterian Church

Sunday, February 9, the sermon title is “The Writing on the Wall” from Daniel 5

By the time we can read the writing on the wall, it’s already too late. That’s what this expression means. In the book of Daniel, Go—-or his angel—wrote a sentence of doom on the wall of the palace to tell the king his reign was over. Nothing could be done about that. But what did Belshazzar do to deserve this fate? When is it too late for us to turn to God?.

Sunday service at 10 a.m. has temporarily relocated to, Constitución 26, in Ajijic, 2nd floor, between Ramón Corona and Nicolas Bravo. Enter through the back garage area and walk upstairs to the service. There is also a small elevator at the front of the building. Join us for coffee and refreshments after the service

Common GroundFellowship

Earthen Vessels. From ancient times pots, simple clay vessels, have been used to store many things. Olive oil, grain, plants, and sometimes even a host of gold coins. A pot is basically a vessel to convey what is within it. And sometimes what is within is treasure, pure gold.

This week we continue our series in the book of Philippians, chapter 2:1-18, as Dr. Ted Rogers gives his message, “The Treasure Within,” exploring what it is we have in the person of Christ.

Come and join us. We are an inclusive fellowship of believers, all differently broken, and all differently gifted, but working together to serve this community as a part of the Body of Christ here on earth. Sunday, 11 a.m., West Ajijic, next to the Margaritaville sales office.

Abundant Life Church

One for all! The musketeers lived by the rule that they were forever united. As believers we are in the same situation even when we don’t understand it. Some may want to be separate and others love the togetherness but regardless of the way we feel, with Jesus as our Lord, we are a part of one family. As family, we are linked for better or worse. Come this Sunday, February 9, as we learn the ramifications of being linked. God wants to use this truth for our good. How do you view it?
