Eckankar
Everything revolves around love. It always does. No matter how much we rush about in this world and how harried, ambitious, or sorrowful we become, the world stays together for some reason. The reason is God’s love. It makes the whole work, even though sometimes it looks like nothing is working at all.
The two supreme laws are: God is love, and Soul exists because God loves it.
But how do you make this work out in everyday life? Whenever you’re in doubt about any action, ask yourself: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it Kind? You can also ask, What would love do?
Everyone has some experience with love—even a child who has a pet kitten or a dog. Soul is trying, to give back or respond to God’s love that’s coming through. (The above text is from Spiritual Wisdom on Relationships by Harold Klemp.)
Meet with other like-minded Souls for open non-denominational spiritual discussions Tuesdays, 2 to 3:15 p.m. at the Lake Chapala Society.
Heritage Baptist Church
God tests the faithful for a purpose. You, believer, will have certain aspects of your character tested throughout your life. These tests are all geared to produce a positive change in your character; this the Scriptures label “sanctification.”
Consider Abraham’s test: By faith he offered up Isaac, his only son. The choice was clear: God or Isaac. And Abraham, with undeniable composure, obeys His God.
Every trial prepares us for the next. Our character, our likeness to Christ, is shaped by the sharp application of God’s chisel and hammer. Are you being tested right now? These tests serve the hidden purposes of God. They will make you more Christlike, purge you of the things you no longer need. Are you dead in your own sin? Receive God by faith alone.
Faith propels us into the future, and these tests are the mechanisms of forward movement. Be anchored in Christ and persevere in courageous faith. Jesus Christ stands ready to guide you away from any path of moral compromise; He alone is our surety, our protection, and our joy.

Lake Chapala Baptist
In a world filled with uncertainty, one truth remains unshaken—Jesus Christ rose from the dead, and His resurrection changed everything. It’s more than history; it’s the promise of a new life, hope beyond the grave, and a love that never fails. Scripture tells us, “So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power” (1 Corinthians 15:42-43). All creation groans for the day when God’s children will be revealed in glory, clothed in new, imperishable bodies—free from pain, sin, and death. Just as Jesus’ resurrected body was glorified, so too will we be transformed. This is the cornerstone of Christian hope: death is not the end, but a doorway to eternal life with Christ. I can’t wait!

Sunday, March 2, the sermon title is “Visions of the Future” from Daniel 7.
Who tries to predict the future for you? Is it the people who say, “Everything will be all right”? What forecasts do you rely on? Stock market futures? The weather report? Political polls?
We always want to know what to expect. But would knowing the future really make us happier? Daniel is a prophet who has a vision of the future. It’s both frightening and reassuring.

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
Ralph Waldo Emerson considered art as a way for the artist to express their inner self, their “spirit,” and to share a deeper understanding of the world with others. He believed that there should be no strict separation between different art forms like painting, music, and poetry, as they all stem from the same creative impulse.
May 2 our congregation will be celebrating Emersonian Sunday which is an honoring of the arts in all its forms, music, visual arts, performing arts, culinary arts, textile arts, and more. There will be displays in the garden at Saint Andrews beginning at 11 a.m., prior to the service.
