Summer Camp art sale
This is the Art Sale you don’t want to miss! Children from many Lakeside communities have been participating in the annual Summer Art Program, which is celebrating its 70th year.
These budding artists will have their works displayed and for sale at the Lake Chapala Society on Saturday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This may be your opportunity to purchase the work of the next Jesus López Vega or Mario Ramirez; and provide wonderful support and encouragement for these students.
The children receive half of the proceeds of the sale of their work, with the balance used to purchase art supplies for future classes.
Art in the plaza
Shop under shaded tents at the monthly Art in the Plaza event at Centro Laguna Mall, Saturday, August 3, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. More than 70 vendors swill be selling gourmet food, art, textiles, jewelry, photography, skin care and much more.
Open Circle
Armelle Cloche presents “12 Can’t-Miss Events in Artsy Guadalajara,” Sunday, August 4, 10:30 a.m. at Open Circle at the Lake Chapala Society.
“I’d like to share my passion for the beautiful capital of Jalisco,” says Cloche, the creator of TWIG (ThisWeekInGuadalajara.com). Cloche will explain the best times to take guests to visit the city, how to mark one’s calendar ahead of time so as to not miss the 12 must-see events, and why it’s well worth taking a short 45-minute drive to Guadalajara 12 times a year.
TWIG says it has 2,000 English-speaking members, 70 percent of them foreigners and 30 percent locals.

Club Positivo
Club Positivo, at Calle San Luis 217 in Riberas del Pilar, is holding a workshop/lunch by author Barbara L. Choral scholarship
St. Andrew’s Anglican Episcopal Church Choir is offering paid positions to three singers from September through December 2024. The singers must possess basic music-theory and note-reading skills.
