Spay/neuter news
The new Bucerias Spay/Neuter committee has plans for more than just sponsorships of free clinics.
One of their first actions, however, was to confirm a clinic December 13-16 at Calle 16 de Septiembre, near Matamoros, the same site used for the last two years.
Volunteers are needed for registration, animal recovery room and other work at the clinic. Email Darlene at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if available to help.
One new idea this year for raising clinic funds is “Yappy Hour,” an opportunity for owners to socialize with their dogs (on leashes please).
The first Yappy Hour is on Sunday, December 3, 2-4 p.m., at Delicias Mexicana restaurant, near the corner of Abasolo and Francisco Madero in Bucerias. The event will feature drinks at happy hour prices and food specials.
A 50/50 drawing will be held to benefit the spay/neuter clinic, as well as a pet-themed raffle.
Attendees will also be able to have photos of themselves and their pets taken alongside Santa Claus by professional photographer Mike Jones. The photos will cost 100 pesos each and be emailed in digital format to print or share on social media. Proceeds go to the spay/neuter clinic fund.
