What to do with our ears, or beyond our idea of ‘classical music’

In my favorite story by the science-fiction writer Ray Bradbury, a group of aliens looking for intelligent life orbits the Earth a few times and listens to the radio frequencies.

They hear news of murders, wars, corruption and a completely incomprehensible jumble of sounds which the announcers call “music.” The aliens decide to return in another million years to see if there´s any improvement.
