Sinatra’s birthday to be celebrated in benefit for Niños Incapacitados

A fundraiser featuring music, “Frank Facts,” door prizes and Barbies!

A celebration of what would have been Frank Sinatra’s 108th birthday will be held Tuesday, December 12, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at El Bar Co. restaurant, benefitting the local Niños Incapacitados charity.

Drawing prizes and “Frank Fact” trivia contests will be offered  and a celebration of his music, along with memorable music recordings of several Ol’ Blue Eyes epic songs. Got a favorite? D.J. Carlos, who will provide music, may play it!

The drawing’s grand prize: A three-course gourmet meal for four, with wine, prepared at a private home by Chef Alex Sgori, original owner of Alex’s Pasta Bar and “The Italia Restaurant and Cooking School,” both in Ajijic.

Still need a memorable holiday gift for that grandchild? Original Barbies and other attractive, vintage dolls also will be available for purchase at the El Bar Co.’s entrance, with all proceeds going to Niños. Dolls are donated by a Niños supporter.

Other door prizes include Ajijic Clinic professional skin care gift basket; bottles of J&B scotch and Jack Daniel’s whiskey (two Sinatra favorites); Mid-Town Deli cookies; and gift certificates from Casa Linda and Casa Mayabella.

Tickets, 500 pesos, with all proceeds going to Niños, must be purchased in advance; no tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets can be bought and picked up 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, and Friday, December 8, at El Bar Co., while they last.
