The 2025-2026 season of the Behind the Walls home tours kicked off on Thursday, November 20, with visits to four unique properties. The tour program is organized by a support group for the School for Special Children in Jocotepec and is facilitated by dozens of volunteers acting as drivers, hosts and guides at the selected locations.
The November tour featured a spectacular modern house in Mirasol, a pair of stunning high-end homes in the gated communities of Riviera Alta and Los Arroyos Norte, and the luxury Villa Tortuga in Villa Nova. Each property stood out for its distinctive design and creature comforts. Around 200 participants joined the tour, enjoying the chance to explore a variety of architectural styles found lakeside—homes that are not normally open to the public.
The two condo complexes on the tour were especially notable for their sweeping views of Lake Chapala. The home of Kate and Greg Wacker showcased the couple’s impressive collection of Wixárika (Huichol) beadwork art. A huge poolside terrace also stood out at the home of Kristen and Jorgen Brahm in Arroyo Alto, offering a beautiful setting for the new homeowners.
