Fifteen years after her stunning retirement at the peak of her career, Tapatia golf legend Lorena Ochoa is channeling her focus into a new mission: supporting future generations and breaking down barriers in her sport.
Ochoa returned to her hometown this week to present the revised edition of her memoir, “Soñar en grande” (“Dreaming Big”), at the Guadalajara International Book Fair.
The updated volume expands beyond her storied career—which included 27 LPGA wins and a world number one ranking for 152 consecutive weeks—to chronicle her life after retiring from professional golf in 2010.
She puts that sudden decision to quit the LPGA Tour down to a lack of motivation. “I was emotionally exhausted, tired of practicing, and my results weren’t as good anymore,” she revealed.
