No to graffiti in Chapala

Dear Sir,

As much fun as the new skateboard park is for our young people here in Ajijic it is requiring a lot more work from our very dedicated volunteer crew who keep the villages and highways clean of unsightly spray paint scribble at Lakeside.  It seems that tagging (graffiti) and skateboarding go together.

Let’s help them by painting out any tags we get on our own property.  Even if the right color is not available, use what you have and make a neat rectangle over the tag.  Do the same for poles, garbage cans, and even vacant property near you.  When you are out remember to make a note of any tagging you see and report it quickly to either of these email addresses.  Give the name of the street and a number nearby if possible.  Rapid removal is the key to success.

We have seen wonderful success since the Lakeside Garden Guild adopted this for their community project in 2009.  Since then CAR (Chapala Association of Realtors) has funded the effort and with lots of community support we have taken back our beautiful place in the sun.
