Dear Sir,

I found it interesting that in the article “Chapala City Hall puts rowdy noisemakers on notice” that there are three different “ending” times: 10 p.m. according to the new noise law when lower decibel levels kick in; midnight for mass events, large private parties, fund-raisers and lucrative events; and 2 a.m. for businesses that offer musical entertainment.

How is a citizen supposed to know what category the noise “pollution” falls into? Also interesting is that those attending the June 18 meeting were “provided (with the) names and cellphone numbers of three inspectors who are responsible for night duty.” Why wasn’t that information made public in the article, or is it because the public is not part of the inner circle?
