Easter, the most important holiday in the Christian calendar, will be celebrated in the Lake Chapala area throughout the coming week with devotional services and a series of traditional Passion Play events that bring religious doctrine and Scripture to life.

Last weekend, the Jalisco government launched the largest social assistance program ever created in the state, with the aim of reaching around 1.5 million residents.

Guadalajara can be dead at Easter time, but the Museum of the Arts (MUSA) located in the pretty Rectoria of the University of Guadalajara (UdeG) will remain open as usual Tuesdays through Sundays, with several important shows. (See below.)
