Ajijic goes cruising

A 20-year cruise industry veteran is bringing a new business to Ajijic that offers luxury, river and expedition cruises.

Douglas Pinkerton says The Luxury Cruise Collection Mexico will have its own travel club (tlccm Travel Club) that aims to “bring together people who enjoy cruising with like-minded travelers onboard luxurious cruise ships.”

The club will offer enhanced shipboard amenities and many of the trips will be “theme sailings” encompassing Epicurean, theater and other interests.

In addition, tlccm will offer a “Cruising For A Cause” charity program, in which donations can be made to a favorite charity.

Pinkerton, who has worked onboard some of the world’s most luxurious and prestigious cruise liners, says there is also a “Meetings At Sea” program for business owners.

According to Pinkerton, there is “somewhat of a misconception that booking your vacation online is cheaper than going through a travel agent.”

He says tlccm “partners with all the major cruise lines (including Cruise Brothers, one of North America’s largest cruise brokers) to receive the best deals and last-minute specials which are not available on the Internet, in addition to special promotional fares for upcoming cruises not made available to the general public.” He adds that tlccm will also arrange flights for customers.

Pinkerton says the tlccm website is full of useful information, ship descriptions, videos, e-brochures and other tools to aid in selecting a cruise vacation.
