Boxing fans are just a week away from the much anticipated rematch between Guadalajara’s very own Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KO) and Kazakhstan’s Gennady Golovkin (38-0-1, 34 KO), scheduled in Las Vegas Saturday, September 15.
There is no love lost between these middleweights – arguably the best two fighters in the world – whose last, and only encounter ended in a controversial tie.The pre-fight build up has been marked by a series of insults hurled by each fighter. Canelo has repeatedly accused his rival of disrespect for calling him “nothing special,” while Glolovkin has said the tapatio is arrogant and not as popular in his home country as he believes. The Kazakhstani also dismissed the explanation that Canelo’s six-month ban for testing positive for clembutarol last year was undeserved because the steroid was ingested through tainted meat. “They showed their real faces,” Glolovkin said. “They are fakes.”
You can watch the fight on Mexican domestic channels, was well as HBO pay-per-view.
