Understandably, many Atlas soccer fans are still on cloud nine after the 70-year wait for a championship title ended early December at Guadalajara’s Jalisco Stadium.
A new season beckons, however, and expectations for a second title in a row are obviously high for a local team that is packed with talented young future stars. But it will be Guadalajara’s most popular team, the Chivas, that kick off the new Liga Mx (Clausura) season with a home game against Mazatlan, Sunday, January 9, 6 p.m. in the Akron Stadium in Zapopan. Meanwhile, Atlas’s first home game is against San Luis Potosi on Saturday, January 15, 6 p.m. at the Jalisco Stadium.
