Astros ready for final push

The Astros de Jalisco will play Fuerza Regia de Monterey in the final of the National Professional Basketball League (LNBP), starting the series with game one on Thursday, December 7 at the Astros Arena in Guadalajara.

The Astros advanced to their third final in three years after defeating the Libertadores de Queretaro in the zonal final last weekend. However, the Guadalajara-based team will be hoping a different outcome this time, and erase the memories of those two final defeats, to Fuerza Regia in 2021 and the Abejas de Leon in 2022.

Game two in the final series is scheduled Friday, December 8, 8 p.m. at the Astros Arena. (See boletomovil.com.mx for tickets.) Games three and four will be in Monterey on December 11 and 12, as well as game five, if needed, on December 14.

Should the series go all the way, the teams will return to Guadalajara on Sunday, December 17, 3 p.m., and the potential showdown on Monday, December 18, 8 p.m.

The final is expected to be a closely fought contest, as the Astros and Fuerza Regia finished the regular season with the same 19-9 win/loss record, in joint third place in the standings.
