Astros win semifinal in sixth game, heading for three-peat

For the third year in a row, the Astros de Jalisco advanced to the final of the Pacific Coast Basketball League (Cibacopa), defeating the Mexico City Angels 108-98 in the sixth game of the semifinal series.

Netting 26 points, the star of the show for the Astros was Demitrius Conger, a 34-year-old basketball journeyman from Brooklyn who has plied his trade for professional teams in Belgium, France, Israel, Australia, Spain, Germany, Greece and Taiwan.

The Astros will take on the Rayos de Hermosillo in the final series, starting with the opener at the Astros Stadium in Guadalajara on Saturday, June 22, 6 p.m. Game two follows on Sunday, June 23, 5 p.m. Tickets at boletomovil.com, from 190 to 1,000 pesos. The stadium is on Avenida Avila Camacho, two blocks from Plaza Patria.

This will be the third consecutive Cibacopa final between the Astros and the Rayos. The Guadalajara team won both previous series in 2022 and 2023, and are the clear favorites for a championship three-peat.
