Guadalajara’s Atlas soccer team is planning to leave its historic home at the Estadio Jalisco as part of an ambitious project led by new ownership group Grupo Prodi.

The club’s new stadium is slated for a site at the intersection of Avenida Olímpica and Avenida Revolución in eastern Guadalajara. The location sits adjacent to the Centro Universitario de Ciencias Exactas e Ingenierías (CUCEI) of the Universidad de Guadalajara, on grounds that previously housed the Estadio Tecnológico, home of the Charros de Jalisco baseball team in the 1990s.
